Staged as an oasis complex, accommodations include a collection of 36 guest rooms and suites (ranging from 60sqm/646sqf to 90sqm/969sqf), featuring open-plan bedrooms and living areas, and an outdoor terrace to enjoy the serenity of the pristine landscape.All hotel rooms offer expansive views of Saudi Arabia’s wadi and desert dunes beyond.

Rosewood Amaala is set to feature 110 guest rooms and suites, as well as 25 Rosewood Residences. The property is being designed by architecture firm, ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, with a focus on preserving the natural flora and fauna surrounding the hotel.

Rosewood Amaala will offer a range of culinary experiences, including fine dining, casual eateries, and club lounges. The property’s wellness offering, the Asaya Spa, will feature private treatment pavilions, and guests can expect a level of privacy and exclusivity often found in all-villa resorts.

The Amaala destination is a regenerative oasis powered by 100% renewable energy with the aim of having zero carbon footprint and zero waste to landfill. To protect the endangered Hawksbill and Green Turtles that have nesting sites around the beaches of the upcoming Rosewood Amaala hotel, the construction and design have been centered around ensuring the turtle population is left unaffected. The hotel will be surrounded by the world’s fourth-largest reef, and the property will provide two rock pools, allowing guests safe access to the water and sand while also protecting the coral reefs that wrap around the resort.

According to Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International, “NEOM is one of the most highly-anticipated developments in the world, and we look forward to working with its team to develop these three exciting properties.” He added that the Luxury Collection and Autograph Collection Hotels properties will showcase their unique personalities inspired by the exceptional natural landscapes of NEOM.

The Luxury Collection properties in Sindalah are set to open in 2024 and will feature a mix of 70 luxury rooms and suites, including one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom villas with private pools. The second project, located in the heart of the retail and marina district of Sindalah, is expected to be an all-suite property offering 115 one-, two-, and three-bedroom luxury suites. Both properties will showcase multiple culinary experiences and leisure facilities.

The Autograph Collection property, also set to open in 2024, will feature 66 rooms and suites, including one- and two-bedroom villas, multiple dining options, a kids club, and a spa. It is expected to offer rich immersive moments that will leave a lasting imprint for guests.

Sindalah is the first of a group of islands that will be developed in NEOM, and it is set to be among the most alluring destinations in the Red Sea. The island will feature exclusive offerings surrounded by a diverse ocean environment, home to over 2,000 marine species, 600 of which are endemic to the Red Sea.

In addition, Sindalah will be a new destination for one-of-a-kind nautical and yachting experiences, featuring an 86-berth marina for yachts up to 75 meters and serviced offshore buoys for superyachts up to 180m. It will also include over 400 ultra-premium hotel rooms and 300 top-end suites, a beach club, a yacht club, and 38 unique culinary offerings.

Armani Hotel Diryah will include 70 luxuriously designed rooms, suites having their own spa and swimming pool, two restaurants and a high-end wellness spa. Joining the hotel will be approximately 18 elegant self-contained ultra-luxury Armani-branded residences with spacious interiors and outdoor pools, landscaped terraces and rooftops.

Italian designer Giorgio Armani and his in-house interior design team and architects are involved in the aesthetics of the development, and plan to blend the unique architecture of the destination with precious local materials, and a subtle interplay of volumes, light and shadow, to celebrate the landscape and culture of the region. 

“This is a pioneering project that was borne from rediscovering Saudi Arabia’s roots: a dialogue between history and the present that I find very fascinating,” says Armani.  “Armani Hotel Diriyah allows me to interpret my idea of lifestyle and hospitality in a particularly subtle and embracing way.  I am ready to take on this exciting new challenge. I am inspired by this initiative and delighted to be part of a project of such wide geographical and cultural scope.”

As a key project in Saudi Arabia’s Vision2030 initiative, the Diriyah development is destined to become one of the Middle East’s most walkable, pedestrianized cities.  The project will comprise 13 unique districts inclusive of museums, cultural institutions, fine dining, residences, hospitality offerings, office space, retail, and outdoor attractions.  It is designed to honor the heritage of the area with traditional Najdi architectural design principles, including low-rise, compact and organic architecture, rooftop terraces, decorated doors, and large courtyards.

This will be the third Armani Hotel in the world, with properties already opened in Milan and Dubai.
